Job Description

A reputable Manufacturing company based in Abuja seeks for immediate employment, a qualified and experienced person to Head its Procurement Department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the incumbent is expected to handle document processing for all imports and related matters
  • Liaise with Foreign suppliers and partners
  • Able to initiate and complete foreign supply transaction
  • Form ‘M’ and PAAR processing
  • Letter of Credit coordination
  • Receive and process purchase orders using store keeping software in line with company import documentation process, policy & procedure
  • Liaise with the Clearing Agent for in-bound shipments (Both Air & Sea)
  • Understand Shipping, SON, Sea/ Airport cargo handling processes, Customs duty/ tariff and other import regulatory Agencies demand
  • Ensure timeliness of supply and delivery
  • Responsible for coordinating Raw Material flow between warehouses and Factory
  • Work closely with production management, stores, and technical departments
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements
  • Administer contract performance, including delivery, warranty, damages, and insurance
  • Comply with the supply chain procedures for requisition process, validation, payment, delivery and invoicing
  • Coordinate all LPO transactions
  • Check validity of request to purchase
  • Vendor Management

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of BSc/HND in a Numerate or Engineering discipline with at least 7 years cognate International, Local  trade  and Material handling documentation experience in a reputable company
  • Possession of a Higher degree with experience in construction Materials & Door/Window business is an advantage
  • A self-starter, able to work without supervision and under pressure
  • Must be organized
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel incl. formulas & pivot functions, Microsoft Word and Outlook and Speed Typing
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • Membership of a related professional body is an advantage.
